State of the art winery, belonging to the one of the most reputated families of Rioja winemakers. Fourth generation of the family. In La Rioja, northern Spain, birds keep the vineyards free of bugs and insects. The seven rivers, which run parllel to each other from Isla-llana mountain range to the river Ebro. is home to many birds, including the European bee-eater. The bee-eater also guards the vines against bugs and insects in the valley of Iregua, where the grapes for the El Guardían wines grow. The gentle slopes of the Iregua valley are stony, the soil limey, and the rainfall optimal. So, the winemaker gets all the support he can hope for from fauna, soil, and climate. No surprise then, when El Guardían turns out to be a memorable wine.
