Campania is one of Italy’s oldest wine growing regions. In the warm summer nights, shooting stars brighten the sky over the most precious and beloved gift of nature:

the vineyards and the vines of La Guardiense. Home to the extremely rare varieties of Falanghina and Aglianico, the distinctive climate and the volcanic soils are explicitly reflected in these excellent iconic wines from La Guardiense.

In 1960 thirty-three founding members started what is now the Cooperativa Agricola La Guardiense.

Today La Guardiense consists of over 1000 winegrowers, a strong cooperative which cultivates grapes for premium wines and sparkling wines on an acreage of approx. 2000 hectares. The grapes for the Guardiolo DOP Falanghina and Aglianico are exclusively grown on the slopes of the municipalities of Guardia Sanframondi, San Lorenzo Maggiore, San Lupo and Castelvenere. The predominant loamy lime soils that form the slopes underlying the vineyards make for wines with a nose of great aromatic finesse and a remarkable elegance on the palate.
